Today is my mom's birthday. She would have been 60. We would have thrown her a party, to take place either last weekend or this coming weekend.
Somehow, anytime a day has to do with my mom, it rains. It rained for her burial too.
I couldn't go to the cemetary to pay my respects, but i did get to spend the day with my brother, uncle and grandparents. They came up to LI for dimsum lunch. Although their day started out rough (thanks to my idiot father), i hope my mom could see the family together.
I hope she is having fun, wherever she is. Happy Birthday Mom. We miss you and love you.

We've been receiving some registry gifts in the mail. its like christmas again! haha.
i assembled this all by myself
jae put together our stroller as well:

my brother bought us a tree for our house last year. We just got around to picking up a tree.... i planted this for my mom:
its just a baby right now:
it was also time to replant the front. jae did everything. i would have preferred brighter colors, but i cant complain when a husband chooses to do the gardening.

Things I took for granted before pregnancy aka things that are no longer easy for me:
1. bending over to put on shoes, hence my butt mark post. Thank goodness for flip flop weather coming in!
2. shaving my legs. my shower doesnt even have a place for me to prop my leg up. so i just dont shave. i got a pedicure the other day and the poor lady had to massage my hairy legs.
3. speaking of pedicures, i needed to get one because i can't cut my own toenails anymore. bending over it really hard. and sometimes hurts actually.
4.walking. i love walking...but i tire easily and am walking really slow. im so slow sometimes, i wonder if i am even benefiting myself, or just wearing myself out. i used to be able to walk for miles without any problems. i miss running in the park too.
5. sleeping. i used to be lay my head down and be out in seconds. now, i still have trouble finding a comfortable position. lying on my side, my belly weighs down and it feels like its pulling. i cant lie on my back so i have to sleep propped up. i miss a good nights sleep.

27 weeks
OMG i made it to my third trimester!!
this week my baby is the size of a ...
cauliflower! i feel like i am updating fruits really fast!
well, i am definitely slowing down. its frustrating at times, because in my mind i want to do so much, but my body wont allow me to.
i am master of the cough and squirt. sorry if this is TMI but pregnancy aint pretty. I was sick for a good few weeks....at first, I would cough and like a drop of pee may cme out. Towards the end, i was hacking so bad, a few times i squirted enough to have to change my underwear. yeah, not pleasant.
Total weight gain: 24.4 lbs.
Baby is moving a lot! I can see her moving from the outside now. It's freaky.
I am having a good week though.. half days the entire week. not even. i wake up, hang at home for a few hours, go into the office for 2 hours, and then go home or run errands. The weather has been sooo nice and i am trying to enjoy every part of it. We are planning to BBQ next Tuesday!
last night the boys came over and i made tacos with mexican rice and chocolate coconut cookies for dessert. today, i am leaving at 11:30 to get a pedicure. wish my days could be like this everyday!

a long overdue update:
before i get into my massive picture upload, i just want to talk about sleep for a second.
sleep is a pregnant lady's best friend. your body tells you to sleep, and 2 seconds later, you sleep. this is anytime of the day. sleep has never rejuvenated me like it has the past 6 months. my 2nd trimester was great but a few weeks ago, i started to get really tired and dragged down.
getting into a comfortable position in bed takes about an hour. and sleep through the night isn't very deep. i am lucky i get to wake up later for work....because i really cherish my sleep time.
the one time i had to go to court and wake up at 6:30AM, i thought i was going to die. being sleep deprived and pregnant DO NOT go together! you feel very out of it, groggy, lethargic....and all you can think about doing is take a nap. not healthy.
anyone will tell you that when you're pregnant, you need to rest. and whats funny, is that your body will let you know! i love my sleep and that is all.
now onto the fun things.... the nursery. i have been trying to get little things done here and there. the crib is in, so once its put together, i can post pics of the final product. for now, here are some pieces of the nursery.

this was my very first baby gift...from aunt judy and uncle dave. she bought this before she even knew the gender, like in december!!! i guess everyone knew it was a girl. hehe.
poor kid. i can see the abuse now.

got a lot done in the morning. in the afternoon i continued working on my lawn....it was nice to be outdoors.
around 6ish, i left to go to my sisters in laws....where i did an egg hunt for the boys.
jae met us later on, but we had dinner and just hung out for a while.
saturday - cleaned the house, went to buy buy baby. other sister in law called and we went to the park for a walk. fun! i love the weather! the kids just loved walking around, didnt even need to go to the playground.
sunday - more gardening, and jae actually came home early... so we went to grandmas and we had joe shanghai for dinner. yum yum.

the baby moved a different way today.
Instead of my usual wake up kicks/thumps, i got some jiggling! It felt like there was a tiny elf inside of my belly, holding my uterus and shaking it back and forth (but under water). It was so strange, my eyes shot open and i just laid there still, not sure what to do. Then it happened again....violent wiggling. It felt like my whole belly was moving, like it was made of jelly.
Of course being the paranoid psycho i am, i thought "omg, is she alright? is the umbilical cord tied around her neck?". so i just laid there. eventually, it subsided. weird! she is definitely moving differently today....
Today is April 1. April Fools. Should I call Jae and tell him my water broke? Ha!
I have a busy month ahead of me. I didnt get anything I wanted to get done in March. so everythings pushed to April.
I need to finish the nursery. I also need to do little things around the house, continue on with my lawn project, build our shed and put up our backyard fence. We need to order materials for our basement. Jae has a bunch of projects pending around the house too.... ugh. always seems like there is not enough time.
And this weekend, I once again become a single wife bc of the Easter holiday. Jae is going to be busy again. booo.
hopefully he will take tomorrow off and get a day to rest before the big weekend. oh, who am i kidding. if he is off, I will drag him to go to bed bath and beyond, toys r us and babies r us with me and then force him to finish some projects around the house. hahaha.
oh, our crib mattress arrived. still waiting on the crib...whys it taking so long? Grrrr
doesnt a crib mattress look so much bigger than you would think? I went to the store intending to buy it myself but i didnt even think i could carry it by myself. Its bigger than you would think!
